Our Mission
CBSF’s mission is to provide educational technology support and advanced educational and vocational opportunities to young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The current demographics in the DRC demonstrate that the largest age group (46%) is ages 0-14, with the second largest group (28%) ages 25-35, and the next largest group (19%) is ages 15-24. Simply put, the vast majority of Congolese people are of young and working age. However, nearly 75% of the population lives in poverty, with approximately 1 in 6 living in extreme poverty.
A skilled individual working in electrical or electronics trades earns an average of $13,000 per year—28 times the national average. With proper education, we can help lift families and individuals in the DRC out of extreme poverty.
Our Vision
A Democratic Republic of Congo whose children are well-educated, and grow to lift themselves, their families, and their country out of poverty.
